Maybe it is because I neither tried Paco's tacos nor his tequila but I was not enamored with this restaurant. It was an A-OK experience overall. I will say we had an excellent server considering we were a work group of 12 and basically took up a whole back corner.
I sampled several items and here is the breakdown:
Complimentary chips - yes! Warm and salty in the best way possible.
Complimentary salsa - not the worst I've had but definitely bland.
Smoked jalapeños - my favorite item of the sampling! I thought they were perfect but the more spice sensitive members of my group thought they were too much and were wishing for some milk.
Chicken tortilla soup - more broth than substance with a lot of tortilla strips. I loved the addition of avocado.
Refried beans - strange oily aftertaste.
Charro beans - I would probably order these again over the other bean options but wouldn't seek them out.
Rice (that I didn't order) - bland. I requested two bean sides with my meal instead of rice because I am not big on rice. However my meal came with rice and I sampled it because it was there. Kind of matches how I feel about rice in general.
Enchiladas de Dennis - my second favorite item sampled! Smothered with queso and stuffed with chicken and spinach I would happily order these again.
The décor is nice and the restaurant is clean but overall the food wasn't particularly memorable. Maybe I will return one day and try some of the food after having some of the tequila and will be a more enthusiastic patron.
