I purchased a Groupon for a shellac mani and pedi and had the appointment booked online. One day I got an email saying my apt has been canceled so I called the esthetic studio.
A woman answered and said hello rather aggressively, I proceeded to explain that I had received an email saying my appointment was cancelled and I just wanted to confirm that everything was ok.
She asked what my appointment was for and before i even has a chance to answer she repeated and question and basically yelled into the phone. She then proceeded to tell me that she has sold her company to a laser clinic and they are no longer doing mani and pedis. She asked me when my Groupon was purchased and when I said December she accused me of making it up as Groupon only allows 3 months before a service expires. I told her I was looking at the printed Groupon in my hand which had a july 12 expiry date. And she said "well that's too bad , you'll have to contact Groupon to get your money back".
The entire conversation was just awful and I have never in my life come across someone in the service industry that was THAT RUDE. I am glad I did not have a chance to go in as I am sure the experience would have been just as bad.
I have Contacted Groupon for a full refund
If you look below at other comments - Yelp has hidden them but you can click to read them all. There are 6 other reviews, all of which are so negative. The owner writes comments to try and defend herself but as customers, I think we are smart enough to realize that the common issue in this whole thing is the owner herself. Not sure what coming onto Yelp and bashing your potential and previous clients will do. We are not all 'on drugs' or 'not sensible'.
