First of all the good. The staff, from the valet, to the front desk, to the employees I passed in the hall were all very pleasant and helpful. It was one of the more friendly staffs I've encountered recently. Now the bad. Got a Priceline deal for about $100 so I don't feel it was too bad, but the regular rate was around $200. I would not have been happy paying that price for this hotel. The room was poorly cleaned. The bathroom floor and shower were dirty and the sheets were stained. The front desk kindly switched rooms to another on the same floor which was better but still not the best cleaning job. One bed had a torn sheet and the bathroom was again not very well cleaned around the floor and corners especially. Parking is $20 extra / or $25 for valet. The place appears to be an older hotel that has been renovated and it looks like they are really trying to be upper scale, but with poor cleaning practices (which I find most important), they have a way to go. Located on the outer edges of downtown so when they say walking distance to downtown and to BOA stadium, that's a bit of a stretch unless you up for a lengthy hike. The place has potential and again, very friendly staff, but I would probably look for other accommodations next time in Charlotte.
