The MSRP window sticker looked ok until the salesman showed us the nice little dealer add-on sticker. Caveat Emptor !! (Buyer Beware !!)
How's this for a dealer add-on: Mud flaps for a new Honda Accord $500. We are not talking about a big Monster truck that needs mud flaps. We are talking about some teeny tiny 10 inch flaps at the back of the wheels.
Auto Zone might sell them for $20 to $30 tops. $500??
The salesperson said that the dealership puts them on all, yep, read that "all", of the new cars.
It reminds me when years ago when some dealerships would spray some junk on the bottom of the cars and the dealer markup sticker referred to it as a "Desert Protection Package" and tried to charge $800.
Customers voted their pocketbooks and did not fall for that one. Hey, folks, don't fall for this game.
