  • This is a mixed review. I would give this place 3.5 stars but I'll reward them the 4 star edge simply because of the service I received at THE END of this transaction. And because my couch is awesome! Having moved into a new place I needed some furniture so might as well try RCWilley right? The moment I step into the store I'm immediately helped out by one of the salesman. He helps me find the couch that I've been hoping to buy for awhile and gets me all set up. Now this is where the confusion begins. I inquire about the 6/12 month financing options they have available and I'm told that I can make monthly payments, they just have to make an inquire on my credit to make sure I have good credit. Simple as that right? They run the report, set up my delivery, and I'm on my way to owning a new couch without having to break the bank in one sitting. It's just too easy right? RIGHT! I walk up to the counter ready to checkout and after a little information confusion (just a little mistype) I'm all of a sudden given an RC Willey card and account. I'm told since RC Willey would need to see that I have good credit, they give you their own "Credit account", with a low starting limit. I ask, "Why can't I use my own CC for this transaction?" They did after all just make an inquire on my credit account (which of course hurts my credit score). Apparently the only way to make payments is using their own credit account as they consider themselves a "separate entity" (?). Ok so can I use this Credit account that I totally didn't ask for nor had any notice from the salesman that I was going to receive this? "Nope, we would need to see a credit history before we could do that." Essentially I got a credit account I didn't ask for that I can't even use on a purchase I want to make that dinged my credit score. Sweet. I'm mad. I mean there just needs to be better communication from the sales person that this is going to happen, especially when it's my first time shopping at RCWilley and I haven't a clue about how this process works. I guess it's naive of me to think its that simple but at the same time you're supposed to be able to communicate effectively so a customer knows what is going to happen and not be blindsided by something like this. At this point I'm upset at the useless ding to my credit and an account that I don't want.. Enter Maxwell. The man at the counter totally took my frustration head on, was able to throughly explain what had happened and was able to shut the account down without any more "hidden agendas". He was apologetic, well spoken, patient, and very helpful. I ended up just paying up front, not my preferred method but I want this couch so all well. So thank you Maxwell!! Delivery came fast on Friday, the delivery boys were quick and had my stuff all set up without me lifting a finger so thank you to those boys as well. Last but certainly not least, I love my new couch and as long as I don't have to deal with anymore salesman I'll be back to purchase more.
