The wife and I were finishing up a 3 day weekend in Vegas and having lunch with a friend who loves out there. I was driving to the restaurant when I heard the click click click.....something was in the tire.
Sure enough, a shiny screw was in the tread of the rear driver side tire. I was super bummed because the tires are NEW!
I asked our friend and she said they changed her tires once and were nice. So we headed over there after lunch. The tech said it would be about an hour and gave us an estimate of $17 for a normal patch job. After about 15 minutes, the car was taken to the garage side. I kinda stood by so I could watch the tech work. He pulled the tire off, pulled the screw out, and put the tire in a bucket of water. No leak!! He said bring it back if it starts to go flat. I told him we had a 4 hr drive ahead of us and he said ok let me pull the tire off the rim and double check.
10 minutes later, he comes back and says the tire is GOOD! No leak, no hole! I was super excited. He gave me the key and startd to walk away. I said how much is it? The tech said free, no charge! I was shocked so I kinda mumbled a thank you and gave him a 10 dollar tip.
They could have easily charged a 15 dollar labor fee or some other charge. Thanks for being honest and generous!!
