Breakfast here was one of the highlights of an already awesome couple of days in Toronto. I can imagine it would get really crowded on weekends, but at 10 am on a Wednesday morning, my friend an I were just about the only people in the place. We sat on the glorious back patio. My friend enjoyed a hot tea with milk & a Niche Omelet, and I had a double latte & Poached BLT. The espresso was delightful--toasty and smooth, not bitter at all. The eggs were perfect, and the spring greens on top and the fruit garnish added a really nice freshness to breakfast.
The service was not what I would call slow, but perhaps a little...relaxed. But we were relaxed, and in no hurry. I don't know whether the service would have been more hurried if we had indicated that is what we wanted, but it wasn't. So there you go.
I feel like I shouldn't give this place five stars because I can imagine it would get so chaotic in busy times. But when I was there it wasn't, and it was one of the best parts of my trip. And the food and coffee was so freaking good. So five stars it is.
I wasn't in Toronto with a Celiac, but my usual travel partner eats gluten free and I took note that they had some gluten free pastries for sale.
