My friend and I recently went to Vegas for 5 days. We stayed in the Excalibur. This is the farthest down I have ever stayed on the Strip. We arrived about 11:30 am. The registration line was huge. It probably took 20 minutes to get to the desk. The resort fee was $140 (including tax) for 5 days. The original $125 was bad enough and then get another $15 out of us. We were then informed that our room wouldn't be ready until 3pm. BUT for an extra fee of $28 we could go to our room right now. So, what you are saying is the room I reserved will sit empty until you call me to tell me I can check in. That is just money grubbing. The room was ok. I have been in better, I have been in worse. Very touristy. It was like the cattle had been released from the barn to graze on the expensive grass. When this hotel was built it was cool. Now it seems outdated. There was no flair and no charm. The only bright spot was Buca Di Beppo. Love that place. This was my last stay on the Strip. I used to think the Strip was the shit. We had more fun on Fremont and the casinos off the Strip. The MGM Resorts company has squeezed its last nickel out of me. The best part of this review is the corporate email that will be sent to me about how sorry they are about my bad experience. Refund some of the money I spent and maybe I will accept it.
