| - WHAT HAPPENED?!?!?! I was here 1 year ago and I LOVED this place!! What one short year can do in the quality of their food!! I fell in love with their chicken tortilla soup, which is named the Aztec Soup here 1 year ago, and I was so excited to come back and have it again, just to find ONE BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!
Food:
1) Aztec soup: WAY TOOO SALTY!!! I could barely finish half the soup, I was downing so much water in attempts to wash out all the salt I was ingesting! Why was the soup so salty?!?! Do they even taste the soup? My friends ordered the same soup and they felt it was WAY TOO SALTY too, so it wasn't just me! Not only was it too salty, but it was in a smaller bowl, there were less ingredients, it was just all wrong and SO different from what I remembered 1 year ago! Major disappointment!
2) Pan seared fish (forgot what type of fish): This dish was pretty good, but for the price, the portions could have been a little more generous.
3) Cobb salad: pretty decent, ingredients tasted pretty fresh
4) Guacamole and chips: good guacamole, chunky, just how I like it.
Service:
Nice and friendly waitress. Not very attentive to refill my water, but that's just probably because I needed so much water from the intensely salty soup.
Ambiance:
It's a dimly lit, romantic ambiance type place. It feels like a fancier, fine dining type place. Overall, very neat and clean, comfortable place to dine in.
Price:
Our meal cost us ~$90, which I think was NOT WORTH it, considering the highlight of my meal was supposed to be the soup and it was such a big let down.
Overall:
I was actually planning on coming here TWICE during my trip here, but after coming here ONCE and tasting that awful salty soup, I decided not to come here a second time during my short trip to Phoenix. I think the soup is forever ruined for me, I don't think I'll be coming back.
