How do you know a bar reeks of classiness? Maybe when there's a bench to sit on in the elevator going up and a mini champagne bottle machine right outside...
...but yes, Mandarin Bar was a pleasure to visit indeed! It has an upscale feel as expected based on its location in the Mandarin Oriental, and the large space feels sufficiently interspersed with people to make it still happening without being crowded or noisy like a typical Vegas bar. There are tables by the windows to enjoy the sprawling views and lights of the city, but the bar itself is amazing with a comfy slanted arm rest and dim orange glow. Doesn't hurt that they are topped with complimentary snacks such as pretzels and wasabi peas too!
As for their menu, they have an extensive list of wine and spirits along with an array of different cocktails, including a special seasonal drink. And while your eyes may boggle at the prices, I felt both the atmosphere, taste, and quality of the drinks made them worth it. The Rossini and Pearbellini were absolutely delicious and I was very, very tempted to order another. My friends were pleased with their choices as well! Our bartender was friendly and attentive, and both the drinks and service made for a great experience.
I can't wait to come again to indulge a bit (why not in Vegas?) and to try their small bites and/or afternoon tea next time. Definitely a new staple on future Vegas trips!
