  • We really love this church and now can call it our home church. Though it is a mega church, it really has a small church feel for us. The pastors that we've all gotten to know have really great memories and have made it so personal for us. I don't know how from the thousands of people that they meet that they can remember all those names and really remember even what we talked about. I am finding myself being challenge to grow again spiritually (I was at my prior church, too) but in a new direction. Both my teenage kids have made friends in their own age group. I really love the unity and cohesiveness with which this church is, very outreaching, inclusive. They have so many different areas where people can serve and minister in that it's amazing. The membership classes are comprised of 3 classes and they are typically taken over several months. One of the pastors teach each class, so you get to meet 3 different pastors. However, I've met all 3 pastors well before these classes. They really go way above and beyond what I would expect from a congregation this big. I witnessed 2 of the pastors when there was a crisis with one of its member's children having issues seeing them stay with this family for hours until things were at a good place. They are great with follow up and people seem to love to serve, and not be burned out. After my 2nd class, I met with some people from church after I took a spiritual gifts assessment and they met with me to find out how I can best serve the church. I asked where there was a need, but they said they wanted to put me where I would best be happiest and thrive. I've never been to a church like that, rather I've always been at a church where the needs were so great and not enough people, that you get put where they need help. It took me awhile to understand this, but I eventually got it. Since I wrote my last review a year ago, the name of the church has changed to COMPASS CHRISTIAN CHURCH and now has 2 campuses. One here in Chandler, and one in Casa Grande. There are many services to choose from and I don't know how many. I believe there are 3-4 services on Sunday and 1 on Saturday. There is even a Spanish speaking service, which is additional. There is a service for Junior High that meets at 9:45 am and the High School service meets at 11:15 am. One of the things I love about this church is that they are very time conscientious. They always start on time and usually end on time. They are very respectful of other people's time. However, if you have a need, they will take all the time that you need to help you out. You can tell there is so much love in this church and I really love it. Hopefully as long as we live in the area, this is where we will be coming. Oh, the senior pastor is now Pastor Brian Jobe, not Pastor Roger Storm (he just retired). They preach and exercise the Bible. Life groups are great, too. I am learning so much and growing in my own life group. I am connecting in ways I have never been able to connect with other godly Christian women. I also love how each week they have a Dollar Club where they count up all those in attendance in both campuses in all services and multiply by $1 and they give that someone in need among the church to pay down bills. They do not give cash. So, 52 families/persons in need in the church are being helped with this money. I've seen them give a week from about $2300 to over $7K. The church not only believes and practices in helping its own church members, but also the community, and around the world. They support many ministries that are outside of Chandler, in the U.S., and other parts of the world. Love that weekly they have a Homeless Ministry that they give food and other items the homeless may need, serve a hot breakfast, and share the Gospel with them. I see so much love and joy in the church, it's hard not to be excited and get involved.
