I'm not sure how this restaurant has such a high rating. Perhaps it's for the meat dishes, none of which I tried.
I had the Yukaejang (spicy beef soup) and Japchae (clear glass noodle). The Yukaejang was disgusting. It was basically spicy luke warm water. I was so confused with the ingredients they used too. It's almost as if they ran out of what normally goes into Yukaejang so they had to improvise and put in any vegetable they could find. It had chopped carrots, shitake mushrooms, and mung bean sprouts (soybean sprouts, kkong-namul, is added in Yukaejang... Not the mung bean sprouts you add in Pho). Yukaejang should not have any of these ingredients. I think there were even chunks of boiled cabbage. Worst "Yukaejang" I've ever had.
Japchae was oily and tasteless. The banchan was a little salty but wasn't bad... I don't recall the service being bad either, so this review is solely based on the food taste and quality. The Yukaejang and Japchae trumped any good from that restaurant. SO disappointing!
