| - I took my pet to Bluepearl this past spring when he was in severe pain, unfortunately my vet office had closed an hour before. They took my cat back after a little while and I could hear him crying in pain behind closed doors. They took me to a room about 30 mins later and came in eventually to hand me a $2,500 estimate. When I asked if they could give me more details they didn't seem to have much in mind and they hadn't even done anything with my cat at that point (it was about an hour into our visit). They didn't have a payment plan, nor did they talk to me about carecredit- I found out about it at my vet office later- and I told them I couldn't afford the bill they gave me. They came back a little while later with a bill for $1,500- this would only take care of treatment until the morning and I was told we'd have to reevaluate then. At that point, I didn't have much of a choice and it was going on midnight. I signed the paperwork and then they came in to tell me what they think it could be. On my way out, they made me sign paperwork about what to do if my cat's heart stopped. The options ranged from nothing, to $300-$500, and then $800-$1000. Again, no empathy and they were rude while I was filling out the paperwork. There was a complete lack of empathy the entire time I was there. I can't imagine having to go to their office on a regular basis or if I would've had to put my cat down. I don't expect hugs or all smiles, but I do expect my animal care providers to show a little bit of sympathy and to have a heart while treating my pet and talking to me, especially in an emergency. I called my vet office in the morning to get better answers and they were able to help with the pricing as well. I told Bluepearl that I was going to take my cat to the vets office rather than keeping him at there. I went to pick him up, they would rude and wouldn't answer any questions- they handed me a bag of items (including the catheter) that I had paid for in my previous bill. They never called to follow up and make sure he was okay either. I will never go to a Bluepearl location again.
