| - I'm a fan of CityScape.
My experience at CityScape was mainly a dinner at one of the restaurants there and walking around with my girlfriend afterwards. For the most part, we both enjoyed our time there and wouldn't mind coming back.
The parking is underground and there are entrances on both sides of the each street, so you can come in from the North or South side. I found that convenient. Now, it is worth noting that after a couple of hours you have to pay for parking. However, we hung out for so long that it was all open when we left, so I'm not sure what that's about.
The atmosphere of CityScape seemed urban. It was mainly young professionals wandering around and hanging out at the various bars and restaurants. During the day I would imagine there's a lot going on, but I was there at night and all of the retail stores were closed already. There are some benches to chill at and watch the water feature, so that was good.
There seemed to be a lot to do in the daytime, but in typical downtown Phoenix fashion, much less going on at night. We were there until about midnight. After that, the druggie folks came out and we were approached a few times for money before leaving. I'm from Phoenix, so I expected that at some point. It's gotten better over the years, but it is still a problem.
Overall, I would definitely bring my girl back to CityScape. Probably on a game night where there would presumably be more people walking around at night and not so quiet. The selection of restaurants is great, there are lots of good bars, and if you come early enough, there is a good coffee place I've heard.
I look forward to seeing CityScape again.
