First time at Gaetano's the other night and it was a pleasant surprise. This family run restaurant can trace its roots back to LA four decades ago. And the rich history shows in how this restauranteur and his family treat you from the moment you walk in to your departure. When I think of fine dining off the strip in Las Vegas, few places come to mind but Gaetano's is one.
The atmosphere is fantastic. Spacious, comfortable seating and a great vibe, you are relaxed and eager to experience the menu at Gaetano's. The bar is a good place to start with a cocktail or glass of wine. Once at the table Gaetano does a great job of walking you through the specials of the night, of which there were plenty. Before looking at the menu you already have several dishes you absolutely want to taste.
The menu itself is full of Italian classics - chicken parm, Osso Bacco, veal Milanese, and a host of amazing sounding pasta dishes. I went with the Osso Bacco served with Safran risotto. It was perfect. We started with the buffalo mozzarella which paired well with the home baked bread basket. The special Mediterranean salad was also very good, freshly prepared and seasoned tossed style.
Gaetano's food is exceptional however where he really demonstrates his high caliber cuisine is in the range and quality of his desert menu. One after another the selection is classic Italiano but prepared to Gaetano's family signature style. We ordered several deserts to share and they were fabulous.
I'm glad we came to Gaetano's. It's going to be a regular spot for me when looking to dine out in Henderson.
