  • I had several fillings done by Dr. Miller and a permanent crown after a root canal (preformed by a periodontist he recommended). I never had a very good vibe while being treated by him. First of all, I have a very REAL and terrifying fear of dental work. Dr. Miller was never concerned about my comfort level while in his care. There were several times that I was not completely numbed and he continued to drill and work on my despite me shaking uncontrollably, moaning and wincing in pain, sweat rolling down my forehead, and griping my chair. When he asked if I could feel the drill, I would say "yes" and he would tell me to just hang on and we would be done soon. He made me believe that I was just one of those patients that couldn't get totally numb. I can't believe I fell for that B.S.! I got a crown ($1200) and immediately had uncomfortable hot/cold sensation which led to me having to use a straw anytime I drank anything. I brought this up to him a week after it was put in and he explained that I needed a sealing polish or varnish to protect my teeth and that it was impossible for me to feel anything on a tooth without a root. I remained uncomfortable for several months and was given no solutions. After talking to one of my clients, I was referred to another dentist. This dentist did several diagnostic tests on my crowned tooth and found that the crown was not properly sealed to my existing tooth and gums and there was already decay underneath it and it needed to be redone as well as 10/10 of the fillings that Dr. Miller had done on other cavities in my mouth! I had all the fillings redone with my new dentist who explained that the material that was used in my first fillings was cheap Chinese dental products. I had my crown removed to find that Dr. Miller used temporary cement under the crown and it was deteriorating, there was a HUGE cavity that needed fixed, and my gums were super irritated from the oversized metal lined crown he placed there. I felt so taken advantage of! I spent hundreds of dollars the first time around and much more to fix all of the horrible work he did. My current dentist said that this work was very concerning and careless. My current dentist does agree I am a unique patient in terms of being difficult to get numb, but he has never started working on me until I was totally comfortable. I do require a lot of anesthetic but it is totally possible to get me numb and pain free. I would never want anyone to have the same experience that I had so this is why I am speaking out today. I just finished redoing all of the original work today and so glad to have this mess behind me! In addition to the horrible treatment, this office needs a renovation so bad. It looks like it is straight out of 1984 and they have horrible MAUVE carpet!!! Who has carpet in a dental or medical office?!?!?!?! How sanitary and clean can carpet be?
