  • I have escorted half a dozen first dates to Souz Dal. It's all very 'Kissing Jessica Stein', I know. Maybe I'm trying to capture this bar's essence of mystery and sexiness to apply it to myself? The illusion has served me well, at least until my dates' alcohol can take effect. The cushioned window box lounge is the most coveted table - a cozy little hideaway with a view of the action on College Street. With the moody lighting and music, I feel as though I'm in a gypsy caravan that stays still while the world passes by. There's a tiny patio hidden away, too, which feels a long way removed from Little Italy. The cocktails are excellent: Astro Pop, Rasta, Jolly Rancher, Chocotini, Sweet Tart... and luscious whiskey sours. Rock the casbah, indeed.
