| - I am what you would call a perfectionist so for me, finding a barber is as hard as finding a doctor. That said, I did a bunch of research ahead of time and landed at Axe and Hatchet and truly I could not be happier.
I've been to salons all over the city throughout the years and Axe and Hatchet is, (as Dante the owner) referred to it, a 'hybrid'. Its like he took a really chill cafe, crossed it with an old school barbershop and added a twist of modern salon. Basically its a non-pretentious (rare) place to go and get a cut, beard trim, touch up and a few other things done. The idea is simple but executing a simple idea well is much harder than doing something complex and having it turn out with the same level of quality. Booked the appointment online, confirmed it online, got a text the day before to remind me of the appointment (like I needed it, was looking forward to it all week), showed up early and had my hair cut and beard trimmed by Dante. In and out in 45 minutes, like the stylist next to me said '...looking like a new man.'
There is really not much more I can say to convince you how good this place is. I can tell you this, I will be back in three weeks for my complimentary touch up and three weeks after that for another appointment because as far as I'm concerned Axe and Hatchet is the best in the city.
