who the HELL is steve wynn, and WHY THE FUCK is he so fabulous? man, even his voice is slick as hell, deep, sonorous, and coaxing is his voice playing from speakers of his very own slot machines. wynn explaining the dining and shopping options. the features and benefits of the wide array of amenities and facilities. his voiceover tour of wynn macau... for someone who isn't physically there, he takes every effort to personalize your visit. he makes you feel like that girl who doesn't usually give it up on the first date, but as the night draws to a close, you're willing to make an exception...
this is absolutely the best experience i've ever had in regards to vegas accommodations-- the textures, color, details, and overall layout of the suites are genius. a swiveling 42" plasma tv bisects the 700 sq. ft space so you can watch your wynn network tv while relaxing at the desk or on the sofa/chaise with the stunning view of the strip behind you. good luck getting out of bed- the sheets are amazing egyptian umpteen thousand thread count, the mattress cradles you like a wee child, the ambient lighting and plush carpet are both modern and inviting. and... dare i say?... and the suites have one long wall that's completely mirrored. repeat: that means even there is a mirror next to your bed. aka that means more fun for you. ;P
highlights:
- youngish crowd. if you like thehotel at mandalay, you'd love encore.
- whimsical colors and texture. a designer's treat. +1 for extra plush hallway carpet so you don't hear people walking past your suite door.
- esplanade connects to wynn lv and features awesome stores like rock & republic, wynn & co. (jewelry), manolo blahnik, etc.
- 24-hour room service with special breakfast packages (eg traditional chinese breakfast included congee, pork sung, scallions, century duck egg, shu mai (i sub'd for char siu bao), and black tea.)
- society cafe gourmet sliders, sweet potato fries, and bellinis were tasty and the decor was awesome, but the value wasn't there for me.
- eastside lounge is amazing and open very late. favorite: the definitive pear ginger martini. tip: ladies, ask the bartender for xs, tryst, and blush VIP passes here. they usually keep them behind the bar.
- the pool and gardens are breathtaking. be sure to have your red card ready to show, as it is only limited to hotel guests.
- encore wynn is insanely techy-tricked out: do not disturb signs are replaced with new paneled LED lights outside your door. heated marble floors during the night. remote controlled sheer/drapes/lighting. pressure sensitive mini bar that automatically bills you for an item if that item is lifted for more than 60 seconds. a weight scale in the bathroom. a tv in the bathroom. separate deep soaking tub and glass standing shower, also with seating and handheld nozzle.
simply amazing, from arrival to departure. the encore is up and running smoothly after 1 month of opening. SPECTACULAR!!
