  • We were visiting from Oregon for Christmas break on our way to Tucson. We've stayed in Hyatt's, Hiltons, Marriott's, Westin's and Sheraton's. There is certain level of customer service when you book with a worldwide hotel. Lets say it is always exceptional, and hotel staff are always trying to make your stay as comfortable as possible. It is their selling point and they do a great job. With that in mind, I was locked out of my room because we extended our stay and the keys we had expired at noon. I was with my two children wet and hungry in swimsuits to await management that were in a meeting (an hour wait time) or if my husband left work to come and save us. Regardless that we were told that morning upon extending our stay, that everything was in order and the family would be taken care of and free to stay in the room that we were already occupying. Nothing about needed to add additional names to the registry and nothing about our keys expiring. Nothing else would be needed (assuming that I, the wife had the same last name as my husband) and the family is all set. Nothing was done to accommodate our situation and nothing offered as to help our wet and hungry situation without a manager to override. In the end, my husband left work to add my name to the registry. I understand that i couldn't be issued a key with a different last name, but why did the front desk assume that I had the same last name and assure my husband upon leaving that the family would be fine and their will be be no problems with the extension. Then to add to the fire, the management that I spoke to after having lunch and having rinsed the mucky smell of the hot tub off my body, made me feel as though it was our fault that we assumed our extension was all set. I wish she offered anything to make up for the inconsideration of being wet and hungry in their lobby but inly a mere apology. Sure, the price was nice for a 2 bedroom, 2 bath with kitchen. Sure it needs a major remodel and the hot tub was smelly and the fitness room water cooler was empty after my workout. Im Completely surprised because If I didn't see the Hyatt logo on their front door, I would have never associated this hotel with the brand name, Hyatt.
