| - This place is probably not as dark as O.Noir, but for an afternoon, it was dark enough to have to use my iPhone back-light to see the menu.
My group was sitting in the main back room, and 20 minutes went by after entering without a waitress coming by.
Went to the front bar, which was not busy, where two waitresses were chatting with each other for minutes, not paying attention to customers, and a bartender finally provided service. Later when the waitress took my food order, she provided no cutlery for ribs, and disappeared for another 20 minutes. The place only had a few tables of patrons, yet the staff was consistently absent.
As for the poster who thought this might be a "yuppie" place - I would agree that a place that matched that description in the 1980s would not be a fun destination. However, as it's 2012, and as there's nothing trendy about this place, I don't get why the poster would think that. Real Sports downtown would better match that description with its capacity crowds and high prices.
The purpose of paying money to go to sports bars should be to watch a big game with a crowd of excited fans. This place is about as exciting as a Jays game would be with the roof closed on a Wednesday with the Orioles in Town on a night that the Leafs and Raptors were playing game seven playoffs.
If you want to watch sports in this part of town, you're better off at Scallywag's down the street or St. Louis Wings north on Yonge. Scallywags has a livelier atmosphere (read: drunk Soccer or hockey fans), and St. Louis Wings, is brighter, cleaner, plays music, and has better service.
