  • After agonizing over my restaurant choice for my last dinner in Vegas before an early morning flight, I settled on Burger Bar. I had the pleasure of dining in upscale restaurants the entire week, and was looking for something more relaxed. Since, my ingredient standards are high, it couldn't be just any old burger place... When I saw they had a Waygu beef burger on the menu, I knew that was exactly what I wanted for dinner! I ordered it "build your own burger" style and added smoked Gouda and truffle mayo. I'm not usually one to go for mayonnaise, but the server highly recommend it as it is one of their house made specialties. Soooo, when in Vegas... I also added a small organic greens salad, which was lightly and perfectly dressed with a tasty, subtle vinaigrette. The burger was cooked to perfection, and practically melted in my mouth. The Truffle Mayo was an excellent complement! Rounding out the meal was a small side of skinny fries. Just like the Mayo, fries are not something I usually eat, so if I order them they have to be darn good for me to bother with the calories! They did not disappoint. I had the fries with their spicy ketchup which was a great choice! It tasted like it had a jalapeƱo infusion. I decided to go for one of their signature milkshakes for dessert, since I was on a serious splurge. This is where my review went from 5 stars to 4. I ordered the Nutella milkshake, which is chocolate ice cream blended with Nutella, topped with homemade chocolate whipped cream and crushed hazelnuts. The flavor of the shake itself was good. Where it fell short was: it was missing the hazelnuts (no one stopped back to check on me & fix it), and nearly half of what was in the glass was whipped cream topping, as opposed to actual milkshake. If I'm going to spend $10 on a milkshake, it better be a milkshake not whipped cream. The service was good; the server did a great job helping me pair toppings to complement my burger selection. I will definitely go back again, I will just look for dessert elsewhere.
