| - We came here thanks to two TravelZoo specials ($99 for a 50-min. massage and spa access, plus a glass of champagne). Booking was easy and the gentleman on the phone gave us a heads up that we would need to bring vouchers with us and that we would pay a 20% service charge upon check-in. Not sure if this applies to normal bookings, and I definitely understand why they do it, but I was a little unclear on what the service charge entailed after seeing the option for more gratuities for the spa assistant and masseuse on the form later.
I erred on the side of leaving more - my masseuse, Chris, was absolutely heavenly. She explained her general style and let me know she could modify whatever was necessary, and I personally didn't need her to change a thing for my Swedish massage (my general preference is light to medium pressure, she tends to be heavier on medium but I definitely didn't mind).
The spa has a co-ed roman bath which is nice when you're going as a couple and want to spend some time together outside of the pre-massage lounge. The bath is very pretty and the water is a comfortable 90-ish degrees. There are hotter spas in both of the women's and men's areas, but those are not co-ed. There are also steam rooms and dry saunas. The assistant was sure to explain how to turn on the dry sauna, the bubbles in the spa and pointed out the cold shower in the steam room. I took some time in the steam room which had a pleasant but light aromatherapy scent (maybe eucalyptus?), but didn't have any music piped in, so it was oddly quiet until the steam turned on.
There were just a few things that made this spa slightly strange, and not quite the Vegas quality experience I was expecting. First, my massage room must have been placed next to a pump room or something, because about ten minutes in, what sounded like a water pump turned on and it was very loud. Also, the lounge singer music playing in the massage room was a little distracting when "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas" came on (uh, it's May?) The amenities in the shower area were fantastic (deodorant, hair gel, hair mousse, hair spray, Q-tips, combs with disinfectant and a few more niceties) but the showers themselves didn't have great water pressure, and the soaps smelled... odd.
Make sure you park off of Harmon (NOT Paradise, it's a trek from that garage) near the HRH tower for easier access. There wasn't a sign outside of the spa, so it could be easy to miss if you don't know what you're looking for, but basically you just need to hook a right at the juice bar.
