A friend and I stopped in because they were having a promotion where they gave out free macaroons if you voted. We ate our macaroons while sitting at a table and we ended up staying for an hour or so because we got wrapped up in conversation. The restaurant was quite empty during our time there-- only one other table was occupied by a group of women. Unexpectedly, one of the employees approached us and rudely asked if we were planing on ordering anything. Both of us were very surprised at his tone and question, but I apologized and stated that we had gotten macaroons earlier. He then replied, in an incredibly rude tone, "Yeah but those were free." We were so shocked at his tone that we were speechless. We quickly packed up our things and left, without any other employee glancing at us or saying a word. While I understand the need to free up space in busy times, the restaurant was quite seriously empty. In addition, the free macaroon was a promotion being offered by the restaurant I assume to attract people to the restaurant, but yet we were treated as if we were an unwelcome waste of space. My friend is a regular customer there, but neither of us will be going back after that experience.
