Sen of Japan
the neighborhood sushi créme de la créme.
Upon entering you notice the simple and charming decor .
It's the little things I like about this place from the ingress egress, parking , to their soup spoons & table setting presentations.
The space itself is nice on the inside. I like how the windows are from floor to ceiling.
The sushi was truly very good. This is a perfect place for a date night away from the strip. It is pricey but you get what you pay for. Not recommended if you are dining on a budget (or any sushi for that matter )
both times being here I noticed the fish was cold and fresh ! The cool thing about this spot is they are open late and have a late night happy hour Mom-Sat 10:30pm-1:30am. Some people prefer to have all of their sushi brought out at once rather than wait for each dish. Not I , says the man who likes cold fish rather than room temp luke warm nigiri. So I like to order a couple of things to come out together however I prefer not to order it all at once. So be prepared to wait 10-15 mins between orders or double up on your orders.
Started with:
Mushroom Miso
If you go to any other spots for sushi and order their house miso soup and try to compare it to the soup at Sen of Japan you will notice the difference of where you are at right away. One word comes to mind. Quality. One big square of Tofu was not what I expected but definitely accepted.
The Veggie Skewer were tasty and we wished the portions weren't so small & The Chicken Skewer was juicy. I'd say skewers but this is just one skewer I didn't try it bec the portion was so small. (The waitress did let us know of the portion size prior to ordering and was very informative : )
The Sashimi
The Dried garlic on top of my yellow tail sashimi was soo good I'm drooling just thinking about it .
Next time I come I will be prepared to order 10 of those
The black snapper with the capers was awesome
Fatty Tuna was great
Salmon carpaccio fantastic
All very good . Service was very 5 Stars. Thanks!
