Amey is awesome! I scheduled an appointment for her immediately after my baby was born, because I suspected breastfeeding would be a challenge in the beginning. Amey immediately noticed my daughter had tongue and lip ties. She said to keep an eye on it and I may want to have it evaluated. My primary pediatrician as well as the IBCLC/MD at my pediatricians' office both kept telling me my milk supply was low, and that was the cause for my daughter's slow weight gain. At four weeks, we had the ties revised. Amey kept reassuring me that my milk supply would catch up, despite the pediatricians both telling me I just had a low supply. Sure enough after weeks of doing what Amey recommended, I am now able to exclusively breast feed and my daughter is gaining weight just like she is supposed to. Amey was never pushy, she was always encouraging and she knows her stuff. The one piece of advice I have for all new moms is to find the expert, and listen to that person. I have learned that pediatricians are FAR from feeding experts. If you want to breastfeed, you need a great LC and Amey is that person. I will say that she didn't always respond to my texts. For urgent matters, she responded better to phone calls. But that was a minor issue for me, considering she helped me reach my goal of exclusively breastfeeding when it looked to everyone else like it couldn't happen. I cannot thank her enough.
