Despite having come to Port Credit several times in the past to visit a family friend, we never took the time to stroll along the lakeshore and along the small-town feel of its main street shops. Port Credit is beautiful!
Scoops is one of the shops that lines the main street and it's a local favourite. No doubt this place gets busy during spring & summer months as the heat picks up. Boutique-style & cozy, the store's atmosphere is clean and cute. Service is quick and they offer many flavours in ice cream and sherbet forms. I ordered the Watermelon Sherbet which comes with black candy-coated oatmeal and my aunt ordered a blueberry white chocolate (with chocolate chips) ice cream. While mine was definitely refreshing, its taste was just okay - it lacked an authentic watermelon flavour. I really liked my aunt's which was slightly sweeter, but more subtle in flavour, and creamier than mine.
Scoops is a great l'il shop to stop by - I guarantee you'll see a couple of people walking around the lakeshore with Scoops ice cream cones on a nice summer day.
