  • I read about this place in Phoenix magazine where it got an A+! I didn't know anything else about this place besides the fact that it received an A+ for burgers! When I saw the restaurant from outside, it looked like a small, hole in the wall place. I saw misters in front of it so it seemed nice. Once I walked in the place, I was surprised by the decor. It has a retro and trendy look. It has a contemporary feel to it with a mix of the oldies. It looked really small at first. When we took the host that we are a table of three, we looked around and realized there's no where to sit. However, the host led us to the other side which I didn't notice. The other side had booths and it reminded me of a cute little ice cream parlor. I like the furniture and decor. I decided to order the delux burger since I figure it's probably the burger that received the A+. My burger came out and I took a bite of it. It's definitely juicy but does it deserve an A+? Well, I guess it depends how you're rating it. The meat in it deserves an A+ (I got mine medium rare, delicious and juicy!). Everything else in the burger is nothing out of the ordinary. It had arugula and although I don't like arugula, I think if they put more arugula in there, it'll probably be there. There's also onions and cheese there but could I taste it? Hmmm, they didn't put that much especially with the cheese. There was no cheese. The bread was crispy but also soft, so it wasn't bad. Overall, the burger was juicy and good but it could have used more of the other ingredients in there. I like my burgers to be large, packed with flavors from the meat and other ingredients. The delux burger actually reminds me a lot of the pork belly sandwich at roli roti except roli roti uses pork and this place uses beef. Similar concept - I think the delux burger combination of ingredients probably works better with pork than beef because I think arugula's bitterness goes well with pork than beef (Maybe that's why there's not that much argula). We ordered a side of fries (regular and sweet potatoes). They were fresh and crispy, delicious! I love the chipotle aioli with it. It goes well with the sweet potato fries. I'll probably come back and try the classic burger. The delux burger was just something for me to try once to experience. Pros: +Juicy meat for the burger +Onions are grilled nicely +Bathrooms are neat looking - very contemporary and the sinks are outside. I like the decor a lot! +Love the casual, contemporary furniture +Open late (yay!) Cons: - Can't really taste the cheese (it's a plus if you don't like blue cheese because you can't even tell there's blue cheese) - The order of a burger is just a burger, it doesn't come with fries or any other sides. You need to order the sides separately.
