| - Came here with my girlfriend for dinner, and we left quite impressed. The two of us had a discussion about what to get, if we wanted a paella (which apparently feeds two but from what we've read, can feed more), or order a few tapas. Wanting to try different food, we ordered a handful of tapas, two sangrias, and a dessert.
For the tapas, we got the sauteed spinach (delicious), grilled eggplant (tasty), black rice (good), octopus (yummy), and a spanish charcuterie plate (also tasty). For dessert, we settled on the Torrija (great way to end the meal).
As mentioned above, all of the food was good. We had an issue with the black rice, in that some of the rice was undercooked and crunchy, and a couple of pieces of the calamari had sand in it. I mentioned this to our server, and he promptly apologized and offered to bring us a new dish. We declined his offer as we both thought the dish was very delicious and we had cleared the whole plate nonetheless. He told us that the feedback would be relayed to the kitchen, and we were satisfied with that.
The price for the meal wasn't horribly expensive for Vegas standards. Both of us left feeling happy and satisfied. The restaurant is also located in the beautiful Aria hotel and resort, so if you're going to visit, head there a bit earlier so you can walk around the lobby. And unlike many other restaurants inside Vegas hotels, Julian Serrano is not near the casino so no cigarette smell wafting into your nose during dinner. Instead, you get beautiful views of the lobby as you enjoy your food. I will definitely return here on my next trip to Vegas.
