Today was my second visit to this unique resale shop. As a business owner myself and a service provider I always take an approach of how is this business from the perspective of the owner and those who shop it. And I think that helps me see both sides and not be overly critical. And we have to remember this is not a business, it is a charitable run organization with volunteers. And some of those volunteers are very helpful and kind and others are not. Most of them are senior citizens and come from varied backgrounds, which are largely not retail. I think it's great they give of their time. However, today they literally demanded I was out of the shop at their closing time, 1pm on the dot. Sure it's courteous to hurry up, but they turned off lights, two people commented, another yelled that I was holding the closure up by look at a vintage pin. A tall blond women in cowgirl attire hovered over me and escorted me out at 1:02. I don't think this is the best customer service approach. Perhaps management could examine this and close at 12:30, so that those finishing up with purchases could easily be out at 12:45, if that 1pm was hard and fast for their volunteers. It never feels good to be hovered over, made to feel like your a problem and dismissed as a consumer. Again thank you volunteers for your commitment to helping others!
