| - MOVER BEWARE, THIS COMPANY IS FRAUDULENT!! This is a long review but worth a read if your're considering hiring a moving company. I would give zero stars but Yelp doesn't accept that choice. Had these four most recent reviews been here earlier in this year I would have never hired this fraudulent moving service to move me across the US. Back in January, 2016, everything seemed great. I was quoted a very reasonable price from the person I spoke with at YBT, ("Faith"), (how ironic if that was her real name), and she was very helpful. I agreed to a deposit to hold my move date and paid her with a credit card. Still a little worried because it felt too good to be true, I proceeded with the move. The driver and movers arrived late in the afternoon on my move date in March. The driver explained to me that I had way more property than I originally thought and the original quote from "Faith" would be much higher. He proceeded to tell me that I pay for the space used on the truck and my moving fee went up almost twice as much (originally from around $2,000 up to nearly $6,000). I told him I felt this was a bit of a "bait and switch" and he gave me a dirty look and said they could leave if I wanted. Having no other choice I agreed to pay the difference and have them load my stuff on their truck. It was too late to hire anyone else because I had to be out that day. So, they loaded all my stuff (or at least what would fit on their small, cramped truck) and five hours later I drove out of the state. I must say that the truck was loaded with other people's property and was stacked in like a game of Tetris.
Let's fast forward a few months. It's now the end of June and I'm ready to accept my belongings at my new house in a new state. Upon the driver's arrival, he opened his trailer side doors and I saw my stuff crammed in, everything stacked high to the trailers ceiling and the boxes on the bottom were crushed. I knew some of my stuff would be damaged for sure. Once my property was all unloaded, or most of my stuff (some was "lost" or stolen), I saw a lot of damage to furniture and appliances and heard broken glass rattling around in some boxes. NOT HAPPY with the whole situation, I bit my tongue and waited for everything to be brought into my house. I was just happy my stuff was delivered. Once inventory was taken of all of my belongings, I was angry and very upset at all the broken, damaged, and missing items. The driver assured me that all I had to do was file a claim through YBT's insurance and I would be reimbursed for the damage. So, I contacted YBT and spoke with "Danielle" who also assured me that everything would be fine and I just needed to file a claim through their insurance which was CSI (isn't that a tv show?!). I followed CSI's instructions to the T. That company stated they needed a FULL 120 days to examine my claim and either approve or deny it. I waited patiently and almost to the 120'nd day I was sent an email from Danielle at YBT. She wrote that CSI could no longer process my claim and directed me to a third company which was a cargo insurance company called National General. I wrote Danielle back immediately expressing my anger and frustration and have yet to receive any kind of a reply from YBT. I contacted National General and they told me they never heard of CSI or YBT and could not honor my claim. I again contacted YBT but no response. I also contacted CSI and they were of absolutely NO HELP! All they would tell me was they could not honor my claim and no longer work with YBT.
So, I filed a complaint through BBB. BBB tried to contact YBT but no response from them either. So I am the 5th person to write a review on this fraudulent moving company. They initially provide a low price quote and then charge twice that quote on moving day. Cash is all they will accept! I am out several thousand dollars and am stuck with paying for my own furniture and appliances to be fixed and/or replaced. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE...avoid this place if possible. They will treat your belongings like trash and steal money from you.
There is a YBT in New York as well as Las Vegas, however no one from the New York location would answer BBB or respond in any way.
