| - I was new to Yoga (aside from the occasional class here and there) and joined this studio after a friend convinced me to try a workshop. I actually wound up missing the workshop, but tried the introductory week later and was hooked.
First things first, the space is new, clean (they always mop the floor, because with hot yoga, it gets sweaty) and has a great location near Case. They have filtered water available, lots of cubbies for storage of stuff, bathrooms, showers, ect. The studio is fairly large and has big windows that let in lots of sun.
I tried almost every instructor at Cleveland Yoga. Most were good. The instructors usually encourage you to stay in poses for a long time, and to deepen into them. I need to be pushed, so I like that. While there was repetition with poses, most instructors changed it up a bit, so I wasn't taking the exact same class every day. Plus, Instructors got to pick music, and it really helped energize me.
While most instructors were good, I am mainly writing this review to recommend Scott's classes (I think he does Thursday night and Saturday afternoons). His classes are AMAZING. And, I know everyone else at Cleveland Yoga agrees, because they are always packed. His classes are now the standard to which I hold all other classes. They are a great workout - I'm often out of breath and usually feel it the next day. The Vinyasa goes really quickly, and he always takes time to do abs, or mix in some non-yoga moves. That makes his class more interesting and more well-rounded then most. His music is fun as well - he tends to play more indie stuff than the rest. It also doesn't hurt that he's super attractive.
There is usually street parking on Euclid, and if there isn't, there is a lot in back where you can pay $2. The rest of the staff at Cleveland Yoga is friendly, and dropping into a class is no big deal. Actually, it seems that most people don't sign up for classes online.
Only real gripe is the price... it's quite expensive for being in Cleveland. As a student, I couldn't afford it. But, if you can afford the steep price, I highly recommend this studio.
