  • I had a technician come out to service my 2 year old system on a $20 offering. I was told I needed a new capacitor (last one changed in August) a kick start kit, and a chemical clean for my coils. I was told I could get their warranty for $1k and it would cover everything. I was also told I had a roof leak since the attic lid would not easily open. I decided that I would get a second opinion. I was told by the second company never to do chemical cleaning, that the capacitor was in perfect shape and a garden hose would clean the coils. I could have spent $1k for a maintenance plan on repairs I didn't need. I'm glad I received the second opinion and saved myself money I didn't need to spend. Additionally, I had 2 roofing companies come out to my house and both told me there were no leaks in my roof.
