I've experienced a lot interesting problems in hotels; however, it's rare that the management is the reason for a bad review of a hotel.
The actual room was very nice and comfortable, the door staff and cleaning people were very friendly, but on multiple occasions I had very awkward experiences with management.
1) I went down to ask a question at the front desk and waited for over a minute while everyone was busy counting money on the counter. The manager finally looked up and raised his eyebrows as if to queue me that I was allowed to speak. I asked if it was possible to have a late checkout the following day and he said "It's All-Star Weekend so we're not doing that." and then walked away. Well, I guess that's one way to give me my answer.
2) On our last morning, the cleaning staff came into the room THREE times because management told them "we checked out" even though each time we reminded them we weren't going anywhere until the normal check-out time at noon. Nothing more awkward than being walked in on while you're in your underwear for the 3rd time while the cleaning staff was simply following marching orders. They felt bad and we were embarrassed.

Do yourself a favor and goto one of the dozens of other hotels in the area where the management takes care of their guests and takes care of their staff.
