| - DO NOT PUT YOUR CHILD IN THESE PEOPLE'S CARE!!!
I had my child at this daycare and loved it until the director moved to another state and a new director was hired. The experience I had each day drastically changed as a result of the new director. Below are the pros and cons so you have a clear understanding of what you are getting yourself into.
Pros
The rooms are clean and the ratio is low. They also wash the linen there, so you don't have to take it home and wash it. They allow you to pay by credit card, which makes it easy.
Cons
In the fridge there were 10 TEN gallons of milk that were expired by at least a week. This means that they were giving our children spoiled milk. In the classroom was spoiled milk also. To avoid this, you can bring your own milk and have them give your child only food and drink that you bring.
Injuries occur without an explanation. I know this happens at every daycare; however, what doesn't happen is when you take your kid to the hospital because of an injury, the nurse asked what the name of the daycare was and when the name Lighthouse Academy was given, the nurse cringed and said she couldn't say much due to confidentiality reasons, but she sees a lot of "unexplained" injuries from that location and would personally never have her child there.
This is supposed to be a Christian based company, but the staff was seen having an inappropriate interaction with a married parent. It was just a kiss, but who knows what happens behind closed doors. When staff was notified, they gave several excuses as to why this happened and minimized the incident.
I walked in and witnessed the teacher being aggressive physically and verbally with my child and when I walked in, the teachers face got bright red. I did not want to cause a scene in front of the other children so I brought it to the director and again it was minimized.
Anything that is brought to the attention of the director, you will be cut off while speaking and be told about her 30 years of experience. The staff is very friendly and sweet, until you start asking questions about things that are going on. Then they do anything they can to get you out of there.
If you care about your child at all, you will NEVER leave him/her alone at this location. At least until they are old enough to tell you what is going on.
