Visiting this bowling alley it feels as if you have time traveled back to the 80s.. FUN!!! Decorated in bright décor - gives the feeling of fun and a good vibe. Located in a small shopping plaza off West Liberty Avenue it's easy to miss because although there is a sign the bowling alley is in the basement - and entrance is marked in the small shopping plaza. We received great and friendly service while at the shoe rental and behind the bar. We visited the bowling alley for the first time for a Valentine's Day event. All the amenities listed on the website weren't offered (as promised) but it was still as an ok night. The DJ was good - mixed some good tunes - old and new to move and groove too. The BYOB noted on the event details really caught us all by surprise because even though the bar was an "open bar" with many restrictions you can still chose to BYOB but you are not permitted to bring your beer/wine etc. to the lanes, you must give to the bartender to hold and they will then serve you. This is made extremely clear at the bar by several tip jars - at least three on the bar and signs that the bartenders work off of tips!? Sure we all went with the flow for this event but it was no doubt our topic of discussion for the evening.. just odd but it was the rules for this establishment. We paid for our beer ourselves and brought it ourselves and yet still have to pay when we get there? Its like you were forced. Everyone wants tips ...its never ending! The open bar consisted of draft beer (a few options i.e.miller light) and bottom shelf liquor and "no shots" permitted for BYOB. If we didn't BYOB it would have been a very sober night for us. There are only 10 lanes to bowl - so be aware this bowling alley is not a huge one but decent size. I liked the vast selection of bowling balls and sizes to choose from - despite it being such a crowded night. I tried the regular pizza and it was pretty bad - so overcooked.
Hey the bowling alley isn't well known for their food. Overall good vibe despite a few little things and the weird BYOB rules and will probably be back sometime during my lifetime.
