| - I stayed here for a business conference this last week. The room was nice, the bathroom was really nice, and the main areas were nice as well. Staff was helpful when asked. This is the only reason they get three stars instead of two.
My main complaint is the food. They have a buffet in the main restaurant in the hotel, which is the same food they serve if your conference has a breakfast buffet. Very mediocre food. Horrible scrambled eggs, greasy bacon and tough sausage. Cold bagels and tasteless cream cheese. The hot water holder (for tea) had water that was brown when it came out (meaning it was not cleaned the time before when it was used for coffee). The lunch buffet we had was plain and typical of large volume buffets - Bleh......
The dinner we had at the hotel was one of the worst I've had. I am always prepared for rubber chicken at these types of events, and the Hilton did not let me down on this one. The salad served was supposed to be some fancy type of lettuce, but was very unappealing. The rolls were dried out and tasteless. The main course came on a very large white plate with one spear of asparagus and two skinny carrots and a price of chicken that was tough and very bland. Horrible meal. For the price this hotel charged my company, they should be ashamed to serve such mediocre food (not just the dinner, but overall).
The restaurants around the hotel are very good. I did have an excellent dinner at the Italian restaurant nearby.
This place is very out of the way, so if that's what you want, then this is the place to stay.
This place is now owned by Hilton and they need to finish fixing it up since some areas are nice, but others are really rundown. And they really need to upgrade their food quality.
