So I like NoDa's farmer's market pretty okay. It is the quintessential necessity of a similarly kitschy neighborhood. As with most farmer's markets you will find it open on Saturday mornings. This one is actually open even through winter for some of those winter greens, indoor gardeners and handmade foods and goods. That's certainly a plus.
On the flipside, this is so depressingly small I feel hesitant to even call it a market. Even in the warmer months when the Earth is most productive it's a market you can seriously walk through in a few minutes if nothing catches your eye or you're not searching for something you know they'll have. If you like to completely stock up at markets this wouldn't be the place to do it. It's also not particularly cheap unless you're buying the bulk-sized fresh produce.
My personal favorite small company here is called "wish we had acres". They make some absolutely amazing smelling natural deodorants withOUT aluminum in them in case that's something you're sensitive to. The Dumpling Lady also shows up from time to time with some hella good Chinese inspired dumplings for steaming or frying. PS: They're outside on the grassy corner lot in the warm months and inside the Neighborhood Theater on the cold ones.
