| - I wanted to like this place, I really really REALLY did. After moving from New Orleans we were begging for a place that had food from home. This, however, is nothing like it. Even the atmosphere was oddly wrong? Like they read a book on how one thinks New Orleans restaurants are decorated but not how they actually are. Although, the large painting of the second line is great. We did some research and the artists aren't even from Nola, they commissioned someone local. We were then shocked to discover that NONE OF THE CHEFS HAVE COOKED IN NEW ORLEANS!! And boy, it is evident in the food. Now if you are unfamiliar with creole/cajun style cooking I would guess that you would enjoy this place. If, however, you are used to real dining from New Orleans, this will do nothing but disappoint. Service was slow (hey! they got one thing right! haha), cocktails were subpar, and the food lacked the flavor depth that we are used to. I will say one thing, the boudin was pretty darn good! And while this is just being picky, if you are going to have a restaurant themed such as this, your servers should know how to properly pronounce the food they are serving-there's no 'L' sound in andouille (again, picky but in my opinion, true.) Sadly, we still have not found a place that comes even close to home :(
