  • UPDATED REVIEW on 10/30/2017: Cassie, one of the owners, reached out to me the same afternoon as my original review (below) and apologized, which I greatly appreciate! She really went above and beyond to make sure that she understood my experience, and we had a nice conversation about the cafe. She was honest about areas of improvement, and explained to me the reasoning behind some of the policies. I was also offered my order at no charge, so I had a chance to actually try them. The cinnamon rolls are MASSIVE, and are quiet good. Thank you, Cassie! At this point, my impression of the cafe has certainly improved. I was already favorable with the tone of customer service at Pomegranate Cafe, and after interacting with the management, it's all the higher. I'm glad to try more dishes and pastries in the future, and will recommend PC to my vegetarian and vegan friends. :-) ------ ORIGINAL REVIEW from 10/28/17 - one star: I want to start by saying that the staff is incredibly friendly. Very personable. But aside from them, my experience with Pomegranate Cafe was poor. I was given a gift card to PC, which I had never tried before, so this was my first (and frankly, last) experience there. I had called ahead of time to place a small pickup order for the next morning. Nothing major, just six cinnamon rolls. I'm told that it's going to be an extra $20 because it's considered a "rush" order for not ordering 48 hours ahead of time. Little weird - and steep - but fine...the gift card will cover it. They ask for payment information, and I tell them I'll be paying with a gift card. That's not accepted over the phone, and they won't place the order until it's paid for. Okay...so, we get special permission from the manager to order my six cinnamon rolls with an assurance that it will be paid for when I pick them up at 8:30 the next morning. I arrive at 8:30 on the dot, specify that I need to pay, and the guy (super nice) checks to see if the rolls are ready. They're not. Apparently, they burned the cinnamon rolls and need to remake them. But I'm still going to be charged the $20 rush fee, and they won't be ready for pickup for another HOUR. This was not going to work, since I had placed the order specifically to get them on my way to a 9am meeting. Long story short: the order was cancelled, I've still never eaten there, and I guess the corrected cinnamon rolls are now orphans.
