Not worth the money for two simple reasons. 1: their sound human is horrible 2: they have the nasty habit of blasting the crowd with high intensity floodlights every 90 seconds or so.
1: with life, work and cooking, balance and timing are the most important things. The marquee has no control over timing, but they book excellent bands, so it's a non issue. The balance, however is in their court and consistently horrendous. The opener (allah-las) had multiple instrument solos that were completely lost in a musical mush of background noise. Forgivable (perhaps) if the sound has been meticulously set for the headliner pre-show. It clearly wasn't. Couldn't hear the vocals at all for the Alabama Shakes. There were three backup singers on stage. I only heard them once. Great band. Why overpower the vocals? It's not that Brittany carries the band, but she sure grounds it. It was like listening to a record under water. Terrible.
2: they have these audience facing house light that equate to aftermarket HIDs that they flash on at every minor crescendo. It absolutely blinds you. What is the fucking point of that? Permanent retina damage?! If you've ever driven back country roads and encountered someone too dense to dim their high beams, you know what I'm talking about. Imagine this experience a minimum of 35 times per show.
I guess they are a strong case study in support of "location location location." Despite mediocre prices. Crap sound and invasive and disruptive lighting they calmly carry on.
