| - YES, YES, YES, YES! I'm new to cycle and I'm totally addicted. I'm a retired fitness instructor so I know a good instructor from someone who isn't, well, not so good. The energy you get is the energy you put into the workout.
I belong to a gym so I would take the classes there, burned calories and I love it but something was missing...that energy! Except for Lesley, love her class at the gym. I did a search to see about a Friday class at the gym and they didn't have any cycle classes so I decided to go to RPM which is a couple blocks from my house. It was that morning, where I realized what a true spin class should be like.
I'll start from the beginning.
First class is free, which is great. You get to try before you buy. I arrived at 9am, was welcomed right away and I grabbed my bike and started to warm-up my body, get the heart pumping. The instructor came in and she helped me position my bike to my height, etc. She taught me more about the bike and positioning than the other instructors, that is a HUGE plus in my books. If someone is new, help them! As I was warming up, a lot of people started walking in, all ages, men and women.
The instructor, oh where do I begin. She obviously introduced herself to me and helped me with my bike but her instructor skills is OFF THE HOOK! 10 years of experience showed in her class, start to finish and plus some.
Her cuing was amazing, she gets you pumped up, she let's you modify if you need to. You don't have to stand on the bike, you can take a seat on the bike the entire class if you're a beginner.
I burned more calories in her class and I was a hot sweaty mess (I want that, hell, I'm exercising!)
She was fun, professional, she knows what's she doing but she is VERY connected with her students. Because I was a group-x instructor for 5 years, I'm very picky when it comes to instructors, Tracy blew me out of the water!!! It wasn't it about her, she made it all about her students.
Her playlist was awesome, her vocal cuing also on point, the room, LED lights, black lights, sound system is awesome!
I'm so thankful for this studio, thankful for Tracy for educating me on the bike and I can't wait to go back. RPM, you freaking rock!
