  • I am a huge beer nerd. I have been drinking craft beer for about two years now and I love everything about it. I love getting random six packs of beer and taking them home to have my own tasting party... But this... was way better! Over 300 different kinds of beer! Some breweries that were there were: Anderson Valley, Voodoo, Erie, Full Pint, Mission, McKenzie's, Rock Bottom, Stone, Fat Head's, DuClaw, Flying Dog, Great Lakes, Southern Tier, Sea Dog, Dogfish Head, Whitehorse and Arcadia Ales. I highly recommend the Early Admission Package. It was available for purchase from the beginning of December- end of December- The tickets were $40 (which is what regular admission costs after December) and allowed us to get in an hour earlier (6:30) and drink with an 8 oz glass, instead of the standard 5 oz glass. It was awesome! Next year, I am even considering the Connoisseur Package. Not only did they have beer, but they had tons of food too! Pierogies from Pittsburgh Pierogie, Rowdy BBQ, BRGR and tons of chocolate places too! They had Mexican and also a waffle place as well. I enjoyed a burger from BRGR and it was incredible and hit the spot after sampling so many beers. The David Lawrence Convention Center was a perfect spot for beer fest! There were thousands of people there, but I never had to wait longer than 5-8 minutes for a beer... and if you did it correctly (filled up, then got in line and drank while you were waiting in line) it didn't seem bad at all! They also had "quickie stations", about 8 of them, which had no lines and served popular beers. I had a blast at the Pittsburgh Winter Beerfest and I cannot wait to go back! There is also one in the Summer and I am realllyyy thinking that I need to go to that as well.
