| - People hype this place up way too much.
You know what it was that knocked this place down to a 3 star rating? It's all the rave about the frozen hot chocolate. I was like, "How is anything frozen & hot? Stoooopid." But my friends were soooo excited about it and so I got it. Dang. They really don't have to bring it out in a salad bowl-sized cup. I mean, it's good... but not THAT good.
What I would prefer to order is the fried oreo sundae. It's uber sweet and huge so make sure that you share with other people. But I'm all about texture, so the crunchy & crispiness of the warm fried oreos accompanied by the cold vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup is a better option than the cold, chocolate slush.
The only other thing I ordered there were their nachos, which was good, but it's nothing that I'll crave.
What they have going for them is their (1) reputation, (2) optimal location: middle of the strip in front of Cesar's palace, (3) the novelty of the restaurant (there being only three other locations), and (4) it's cute and fun diner-like decor. However, with all the other amazing palaces to eat in Vegas, I'm not sure that Serendipity's would make it on my list of "must-eats".
If it's convenient to drop in and the wait isn't very long, I'd say it's worth a visit...maybe even get something from their to-go window. BUT if you have to wait for more than 30 minutes, especially in the Vegas heat, then I don't think you'd be missing out if you passed on this place.
