  • I was surprised how packed the place was for a Wednesday night; I snagged the only open seat at the end of the bar. The bartender was very friendly and greeted me right away. I needed a sec to look at the taplist. It was tough to read them all so I checked Taphunter. They had poured the last of a dunkel I wanted to order, but the bartender suggested a witbier substitute, and it was good. They had some tasty-sounding specials, but I ordered the Brewlee burger with fries, and it was solid. The meat was cooked well, and the carmelized sugar on the burger added something unique. Fries were well-seasoned and crispy. The dipping sauce that came with it was odd. It tasted like a strange attempt at ketchup, like a salty and sweet bloody mary mix. Maybe slightly more than brewpub prices: I paid $25 or so after tax and tip for a burger and one beer. The atmosphere here wasn't what I expected; it was definitely more happening and a lot of people were there to drink. I guess I anticipated something a bit more chill, but no matter. They clearly do a booming business.
