| - Let me start with, I hate Las Vegas. I refer to it as "have" to be here for work. I have a favorite, off strip burger place I wanted to go to but my wife wanted to try Hugo Cellar so we compromised and did what she wanted.
This place is such an experience. The rose at the door, old school look, the servers are not just good, they are personable, not robo-service that is fake.
The salad was fun, my Manhattan was kept chilled because the drink was huge I had it as an after dinner drink.
Then the steak. Not dry aged so I can't compare it to dry aged steaks but one of the better I have had out. And they cooked it perfect, black and Blue or Pittsburgh. The only other place I have been that cooked it this perfect was actually called "black and blue."
We tried the cherries jubilee and it was interesting. Not really my style dessert but part of the entire experience.
So wonderful meal, full belly, you walk out up the stairs and remember you were in this weird oasis in the middle of some crappy, old school casino with people smoking and weird smells. And realize what they have to do to keep Hugo's Cellar so cool.
The only negative is they need Luxardo cherries for that Manhattan.
