Well, a year into our house and we have found SEVERAL Major problems that our inspector at White Glove totally missed.
The most obvious is that of our roof. White glove said there was 3 layers of shingles and we had about 5 years left on it. The true story after visiting with several different contractors (handymen and roofers) is that the roof is NOT TO CODE! Someone put the wrong type of shingles on top of the original roof and it has caused MANY problems. In addition to that He missed a couple places where the roof had leaks that had come into the home.
The next major miss was that of our hot water at the kitchen sink. When we looked at the house there was a 2.5 gal point of source hot water heater under the sink. We thought it weird and asked our inspector. He said lots of people put them in for instant hot water. We thought cool! ... then we moved in and noticed we ran out of hot water quickly. Couldn't even run the dishwasher or hand wash dishes. The reason after visiting with a plumber is that there was a slab leak and rather than fix it they did a tiny water heater under the sink. The line was terminated about 35 feet from the kitchen.
BEFORE HIRING WHITE GLOVE, seriously consider my situation. A new roof $10-12k, fix the slab leak or re-route and have to redo drywall $6-7k. For us these are the things an inspector was supposed to protect us against with their "expertise." Obviously they were lacking for us...
