  • I got to check our Pomegranate Cafe for the second time ever yesterday (I know - I can't believe I've only been twice!) I am gluten-free, dairy-free and egg-free, so their menu is pretty much a dream for me. They pride themselves on being able to adapt all menu items for customer's allergen needs, which means that if you are gluten-free, you have an ENTIRE menu full of options! Plus, as most of you know, the entire restaurant is vegetarian and mostly vegan (although they do serve eggs and real dairy for those that prefer it). I got their "Raw Green Rainbow" salad, which came with their homemade, dairy-free cashew ranch dressing. It was incredible. My mom got the "Garden Green Protein Bowl" with tofu scramble, roasted root veggies, their homemade gluten-free seed toast and homemade POM jelly. We both devoured our food. Of course, I knew that I wanted dessert, so I stalked the dessert case, asking tons of questions until I could decide which one I wanted. I ended up with the "Gluten-Free, Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Brownie," which was doughy and delicious. Out of all 4 rows of their dessert case, there were 3-4 items that weren't gluten-free - the rest were! I truly recommend this place for all of my vegan, gluten-free, allergen-friendly seeking customers. I know that feeling of only being able to order 1 thing off the entire menu when visiting most restaurants, but Pomegranate Cafe brings light and life to dining out for those suffering from food allergies, food sensitivities, and/or those with limited diets. It's worth the trek down to their location in South Phoenix/Ahwatukee area, even if you reside more North. Believe me - It's a one-of-a-kind experience and worth every bite! Gluten-free foodies, unite! My only request for future is that they offer gluten-free/vegan cakes like the ones they have in their case that are only vegan (not gluten-free). They are so beautiful, fluffy and decadent looking, I would gladly buy a few slices to take home
