I moved to Nevada in Feb-12 and seen an ad in the paper that this place was hiring. As an animal lover I thought it would be a great place to work, seeing that it was a no kill shelter. Well I went in to get app and the lady sitting in office said she would go get another lady that handled that. She went outside and came back in and said it would be a few minutes, the lady was on smoke break. I waited about 6-10min then the lady finally came in.She didnt say hello, didnt introduce herself she was just talking on cell. She went in office and gave the other lady the app to give me. She just sit at the desk and talked on her cell. I filled out the app hoping that if I did get hired I wouldnt have to work with her. I handed her the app and she said the manager would look at it tomorrow. I was going to leave when a man came in with his dog,she was the sweetest dog I ever seen. He was looking to adopt a dog he seen online here but was wanting to see if the dogs got along well. I started talking with him while he waited and his wait was over 30minute.before they brung the dog out, yes the lady was still on her cell. Within that 30mins a young couple came in and wanted to see the dogs, she just pointed in direction where the dogs were and didnt greet them in anykind of way. Another lady was bringing dogs from back to take them to the clinic/vet they have inside and she was dragging them with leash. Most were small enough to be picked up instead of dragged. She looked as if she hated her job. Finally a man brung out the dog for the man wanting to adopt and the poor dog was shaking and so scared ( makes ya wonder y it took them 30min to bring the poor baby out) anyway the man asked if he took take them outside to see how they interact together. The male employee said " oh I dont have rights to do that I will have to get someone else." Finally she got off cell and came to chat with the man. I had had enough and got up to leave, at that point the man still had not got to let the dogs meet. I feel sorry for the animals that are in this place and more sad that it is no-kill as there is no end for these pets. I'm sure that out of the 4people I seen working there 3couldnt pass drug test, they didnt look like they took care of themselves and these poor animals without a voice are supposibly being taken care of by them. I did get a call the next day to work here but I told the lady no thanks. I hope by reading some of the reviews here that maybe they got new employees, the animals deserve better. I am looking to adopt another dog for a companion to my girl and came across this place and had to write a post. If you need a pet yes go save one from here at least at a kill shelter there suffering is limited here it last forever until they kill them with misery.
