  • Why 4 stars? Because this is very solid for airport BBQ. --- --- --- When you're at an airport, standards are definitely lowered. I fly through Charlotte fairly often, and must definitely attest that the fare at the people-mover-capital-of-the-world is uninspiring. However, Brookwood is a drink of water in the middle of the desert. It's a fast casual spot, in the midst of a giant food court that's centered amongst all of the terminals, so convenience is a 5 out of 5. I went with pulled pork, brisket, hush puppies, a fried pickle, and mac-n-cheese. It also comes with corn bread. Clearly, I was counting calories during my visit. All items were at least average or better. I don't like fried things, but ordered the hush puppies due to the feedback on Yelp. They were definitely better than I anticipated, especially considering that whole 'they live in an airport' thing I just mentioned. But I still probably would order for something not fried on my next visit. The pickle was definitely worth ordering again. Charlotte is probably the city I've laid over in the most without ever actually visiting. Until then, this is the closest thing to authentic Carolina BBQ I've had. I have failed.
